Depending on your bible translation “hope” Scripture references occurs anywhere between 129 -167 times in the Bible. The exact number is not important. What is important is to sit up straight and take note of the fact that Abba Father, in His eternal wisdom, wanted us to be encouraged by it. Even more so as the days we are living in becomes increasingly difficult. Godlessness disturbs believers and followers of Yeshua Messiah. They want to obey His Word and are often overwhelmed by what is currently transpiring in the world.
Amos 3:7 "Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets." Romans 15:4 "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." v13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Things are not falling apart; they are falling into place.
Yes, there are many unpleasant and disturbing things happening, but Father did warn us many times about how things would be before Yeshua's second coming.
I'd like to suggest a few passages referencing godlessness in the last days. Please read Jude, 2 Tim. 3:1-16, 2 Tim. 4:1-8 and 2 Peter 2 – 3:3. The reason why it is important to read it, is because it is part of your emotional, mental and spiritual preparation, so that you are not alarmed, neither surprised by what is happening around you. I do believe that it is vital to be aware of the "last day symptoms", as I like to call it. Many people will be troubled and weighed down by what they see and hear, but as believers, we should radiate inner peace and tranquillity. When people start asking why you seem so calm amid the storms and upheavals, you can explain and encourage them.
People struggle with hopelessness. They seem to unravel at the seams because they cannot discern the times and the seasons. More than ever before, we need to share the message of hope. As believers we have the responsibility to reflect the Light of Yeshua and to take time this Passover to share the Gospel of the Good news of salvation. Psalm 130:5 "my soul faints with longing for Your salvation, but I have put my hope in Your Word."
How do I remain hopeful? I read the Bible so I can see how God consistently helped His people because He is a covenantal God. I look back and remember His faithfulness in my own life and therefore I can look ahead with much hope. "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." .
The Hebrew word Bitachon means: to confidently trust in a faithful covenantal God, therefore I am secure in Him, because He is my only Source of hope.
This hope is truly an anchor for our soul.
Psalm 33:18-22 "But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His Holy Name. May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You."
Ps. 71:5 "For you have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth."
Hosea 2:15 "I will make the valley of Achor , a door of hope." God offers hope for broken and rebellious people. The Holy Spirit draws us near to Abba Father's heart and Yeshua is the Living Truth, our door of hope. Hosea saw a future time when God would restore His people to proper relationship with Him.
It is time. In your "valley of trouble" , strip away the sin that wants to entangle and turn away from wrong. Allow the Holy Spirit to show you what you still need to repent of. Deal with it so that you are well prepared for this Passover. It is not too late. Micah 7:7 "but as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Saviour; my God will hear me." This is a new beginning, a new season, take hold of it with hope.
