Psalm 95:6-7 “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care.” What a blessed privilege to be under His experienced supervision. As the perfect Shepherd, Yeshua is also the Overseer of our soul. The word “overseer” means custodian, manager, guardian and superintendent. Who qualifies to take care of your soul in this perfect way?
Remember you are a spirit, living in a physical body and you have a soul. Yeshua looks at the whole person. As believers we grow spiritually by studying the Scriptures and I daresay most people also try and live a healthy lifestyle, thus taking care of the body. However, many neglect the soul dimension and this is one aspect that seems to be the battleground.
This is why 1 Peter 2:25 is such a powerful portion of Scripture. Read it again and meditate on Yeshua as the Shepherd and Overseer of your soul. Can you perceive how compassionately He cares for you? Isaiah 40:11 "He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young." Are you willing to trust Yeshua with your deep hurt, unresolved issues and unmet needs? Do you carry your unspoken trauma and emotional pain alone? Are you broken-hearted and suffering anguish and grief so raw, that it cannot even be put into words?

You are safe in Yeshua's strong arms. Release it to Him.
Matthew 11:28-29 says "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls."
Our great, chief Shepherd binds up the brokenhearted, comforts those who mourn, provides for those who grieve in Zion, gives beauty instead of ashes and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
Give ear and come to Me; hear Me that your soul may live.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. Can your heart sense the comfort Yeshua is extending towards you?
Ps. 56:8 "Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll – are they not in your record?" Yeshua is even aware of every tear you shed.
John 10:14 "I am the good Shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know me."
Jesus knows you; but do you also know Him as the Shepherd of your soul?

Biblical truths always triumph over fluctuating emotions. A "healthy" soul is led by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth. Our feelings, thoughts and other soul struggles should align with "It is written." Where the soul is not led by the Holy Spirit, complete and comprehensive healing will be delayed. His Word refreshes and nourishes your total being. Your soul dimension can only be sustained and healed from the Fountain of life, Yeshua himself. His perfect Shepherding is like dew falling onto parched land, like springs of living water. Allow Yeshua to "wash" you with the truth to bring healing to your emotional needs. He is well able, because He is the Overseer of your soul, not just your spirit and body, but your soul as well.
This year, 5784, is also alluding to an open door. The number 4 correlates to the 4th letter of the Hebrew alphabet "ד Dalet." The pictograph for ד dalet is a door.

A beautiful picture of comfort. Yeshua, as the "Door" of the sheep pen. A strong all-powerful, all-knowing Guardian. One who can see danger coming and gives protection to the sheep. John 10:9 "I am the gate; whoever enters through Me, will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture."
Jesus is the door, the only way to Abba Father. He is knocking on the door of your heart, Rev. 3:20. Allow Him to heal you in body, soul and spirit.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon wrote: "When the soul grows sorrowful He revives it; when it is sinful He sanctifies it; when it is weak He strengthens it."
John 10:10b "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." Are you experiencing this kind of life?
May your soul soar today, knowing that you have a Perfect Shepherd in Yeshua. Also be strengthened by this Messianic prophecy in Micah 5:4 "He will stand and shepherd His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God and they will live securely for then His greatness will reach to the ends of the earth and He will be their peace."
Thomas à Kempis said, "It is God the eternal, the immeasurable, the filler of all things, who alone can solace the soul and bring true joy to the heart."
Take time to look at the different pictures posted above. Reflect on these visuals. May the Holy Spirit minister to you in a deeply personal way. Yield your soul to Jesus and may you receive comfort, healing and solace from the perfect Shepherd.
