The more sand has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it.”  Niccolo Machiavelli

"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."  Ps. 90:12

Abba Father works in orderly cycles and seasons as seen with His appointed festivals such as Passover.  These festivals all point to Yeshua.

The second Passover is called Pesach Sheni in Hebrew and this year it is on 12 May 2025, which is 14 Iyar.    It is exactly one month after the feast of Passover.  What a beautiful expression of unconditional love!  A God that gives us second chances.  He knows you intimately and is familiar with every aspect of your life, your struggles, weaknesses and possible faltering faith.  He gives you another opportunity to come into right standing with Him.  Don't let this second Passover, second opportunity to celebrate, pass you by.  Iyar is the second Hebrew month and it is associated with the theme of healing.  Yeshua is your Healer.    He heals you in body, soul and spirit.

So, if for whatever reason you missed Passover this year, don't despair.  Here is another invitation.  Don't delay.

It's the opportune time!

It is also time to briefly touch on the subject of "Forgiveness."  As believers in Yeshua, we understand that we need to repent from our sins and ask God's forgiveness for our trespasses.  The royal prayer in Matthew 6 teaches us that He forgives our debts as we forgive our debtors.  We know it is essential to forgive others.  I'll go as far as to say we recognise the importance of asking His forgiveness and forgiving others, but we struggle to forgive ourselves!  You are robbing yourself of healing and that is not God's will for your life.  We all have made mistakes.  Things we wished we could undo.  Start by forgiving yourself.

Now is the time!

Are you holding on to grudges, harbouring an offence or remembering cruel words spoken against you?  Do you continue to replay those hurtful comments in your mind?  God created our brain with an amygdala which is part of the limbic system.  It is involved in many cognitive processes as well as memory recall.  The amygdala helps to encode, store and retrieve memory.  My prayer is that Yeshua will heal your memory pathways so that you can let go of all the negative emotions connected to painful memories.  May the Holy Spirit teach you to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.     God does not want you to replay or hold on to these negative words, memories or feelings.  Let that go and only meditate on what is beautiful.

For it is time!

Prov. 27:1 "Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth."  Time is precious, make sure you spend it wisely.  I'd like to stir your heart to try some of these practical things.  Make time to laugh, to bond with family members and meet up with friends.   Is there still something you wanted to do?  Make the most of every opportunity.  Go for it!  Plan it today.

This is the time!

Have you recently told your spouse or child that you love them?  Have you thanked a person for something or shown your appreciation?  When last have you wholeheartedly  thanked God for all He has done for you?  I am asking these questions because it is these basic things we often overlook and we tend to just carry on with our lives.  Reflect on this.

It is time!

Every day is a gift from God.  You might have said to yourself that you will reserve or keep something for a special occasion for one day.  All of us have used those words.  One day I'll use this or do that.  When exactly is that "one day?"  Time flies.  Live in the moment and don't wait.

It is time!

A change is as good as a holiday.  What about rearranging furniture in the house, or repositioning the pot plants?   Some fresh flowers in a vase?   Do things a little differently.  Try a new recipe, even a different hairstyle.  Why do I mention all these random things?  It seems insignificant in the greater scheme of things.  It's the little things in life that count.  Take the time to try.  These practical actions have a positive impact on us.  It is uplifting and good for our well-being.   You'll be pleasantly surprised by the results.

I think it's time!

King Solomon had much to say about "Time" in Ecclesiastes 3.  "He has made everything beautiful in its time."

May you always remember that God's timing for every phase of your life, is perfect. "I trust in You, o Lord; I say you are my God.  My times are in Your hands."  Ps. 30:14-15.

Parashat Chukat, Numbers 19:1-22:1, contains some of the most mysterious passages in the Torah : The  accounts of the water from the Rock, the Red Heifer and the bronze Serpent  beautifully bridge the Torah and the Good News, showing that even in the wilderness YHVH was already revealing His plan of redemption through Messiah […]

  • The Tongue: From Fire to Restoration May 31, 2026
Last week, in Nosa (Numbers 4:21-7:89), we discussed the priestly blessing as a model of restoration, where people are lifted up and blessed. This week, in Beha'alotcha (Numbers 8:1-12:16), we see a practical illustration of this in the lives of Moses and Miriam. James 3:5-10 paints a vivid and unsettling picture of the […]
  • Heaven’s Voice, Echoed on Earth May 26, 2026
Comparing the Priestly blessing in Numbers 6:24-26 with the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6:9-13, we find a beautiful symmetry in Scripture, like and echo reflecting back. One is spoken over the people, the other through the people, yet both flow from the same divine heart. The Priestly Blessing begins, “יהוה bless you and […]

  • Ruth 2 : Grace in the field May 19, 2026
Like seeds hidden beneath the earth, the chapter artfully shifts the story from a feeling of emptiness to one of provision, a change that occurs with remarkable quietness. Ruth goes to the fields to collect what's left, fulfilling the role of the poor and the foreigner. It appears to be a fortunate coincidence […]
